The CyberKnife® Society (CKS) was initially organized in 2002 by Dr. John Adler under the auspices of Accuray® Incorporated (Publicly traded under NASDAQ). After 5 years and over 600 members, on January 14, 2008, The CyberKnife Society officially formed as a non-profit (501c6). Accuray Incorporated continues to be a generous financial sponsor that along with our membership dues supports The CKS to continue our vision as defined below:
We believe we are limited only by our imagination in our efforts to painlessly destroy cancer and other disorders throughout the body - throughout the world. The CyberKnife Society is dedicated to realizing this dream.
Our Mission
The CyberKnife Society is a multi-disciplinary non-profit organization, consisting of surgeons, radiation oncologists, physicists, and allied professionals, who are dedicated to advancing the science and clinical practice of radiosurgery.
Our Objectives
- Improve results achieved in the field of radiosurgery by promoting scholarly exchange among the users, with a focus on expanding the role of CyberKnife.
- Share detailed clinical information pertaining to CyberKnife radiosurgery to promote protocol development.
- Encourage and enhance CyberKnife adoption and radiosurgical techniques in the worldwide medical community and among healthcare providers and patients.
